Welcome to the homepage for the Senior Government courses at Academy of the Canyons Middle College High School. This semester long course explores the basic governmental systems of our nation, including the Constitution and Bill of Rights, the major branches of the government, Federalism, voting, and civic rights and responsibilities. The main focus of this class is to examine these elements and how they fit into our lives, as well as to improve your critical reasoning skills and your skills in writing, reading and research. Additionally, projects will be designed to improve student’s understanding of technology, encourage intra-personal communication, and allow opportunities for students to learn through experiencing historical events first hand.

The links to the left will discuss various aspects of the class, including homework and grading. Current grades for this class, and other classes taught by Mr. Walker, can be accessed via the web thanks to MicroGrade.

Note taking is an essential skill; for this class and for future classes. For this reason various ways of taking notes will be discussed throughout each semester. Students can review these styles of note taking, and find out new information about taking notes by clicking here
