20th Century Wars is an elective class at Academy of the Canyons Middle College High School, in Santa Clarita, CA. This semester long course is designed for students who wish to conduct an in-depth study of the nature of warfare in the 20th Century through a project-based environment (in other words: students in this class ae always engaged in some activity pertaining to a war in the 20th Century, rather than listening to a lot of lectures). The political and human consequences of warfare, the political issues surrounding conflict (both on a national and on an international level), as well as the effects of technological advancements and new thoughts in military strategy will be examined within their historical context, so that students will understand the events, the participants, the causes, and the consequences of a veriety of international conflicts throughout the past centuery, including contemporary events. This website outlines many of the policies detailed in the course syllabus, and povides several tools which will help students to be successful in this class.
